Love’s cost

I gladly pay,
for each wonder-
filled day; of
sorrow borne,
cheerfully, I
mourn-
to have
known,
sunny days,
wily ways,
tossing
joy, sharing
pain,
treading
through,
this day,
of rain.

how I feel
your pain,
through so
many miles,
penetrating
my core,
pain, so
deep
shatters
mountains,
uproots
trees,
and
brings
me,
your
dear friend,
to
my
knees.

Companions lost
through so many
years, take heart,
in this, the shedding
of your tears, each
drop that falls,
testifies of love;
when darkness
calls, from above;
of memories
sown, joyous
and resplendent;
of those, we
held dear,
forever,
in remembrance…

Hunter for blog

I cannot say,
“I love You,”
just for who
you are.
I didn’t know
you, your love,
grace, compassion,
joy, hope-
these,
I thought
I knew-
until I met
you. I
realize, I
am a child,
learning,
what love
is. Covered
by grace, limit-
less, Your grace-
isn’t sufficient.
You promise
more. I
love You,
because, you
first, loved
me.
